Bekele is a leading producer and organizer among independent smallholder farmers in Ethiopia’s Bensa region. Working closely with his family, Bekele manages multiple farms and drying stations, including the Hora Ganet (“Spring Paradise”) farm overseen by his son, Beleteno, an economics graduate of Hawassa University.
Across his Bombe and Kokose farms, Bekele sources cherry from smallholders. His operations emphasize careful processing and quality control, with expansive shaded drying areas designed to protect delicate natural fermentations.
Known for his professionalism and collaborative spirit, Bekele continuously invests in both quality improvement and community impact. His naturally processed coffees—ranging from classic profiles to anaerobic and lactic styles—are meticulously dried and moisture-checked, resulting in expressive, high-quality lots that reflect both innovation and tradition in Bensa.
